The Yo-no-no is a short game in which each team captain hold both the white and black peones in
each hand. They take
turns guessing and the winner's team gets to go first, to score points. The
captain who misses and then gets caught loses since the guessing goes back and forth
from one to the other. So the caption has to lose twice in a row. There are special Yo-no-no songs sung. Below
is my Late Grandpa Sam's song.
The words in the song mean "If you are from the
Mission or San Diego you can't win. There haven't been Indians living at
the Mission nor in San Diego since before 1900. Who knows how old this
song is. Some times I substitute current names for the Mission or San
Diego.
